Description
Gala Csaky
(b. 1987, Ečka, Vojvodina) transforms the canvas into a living entity. With dual Master’s degrees in Painting and Drawing from Novi Sad’s Academy of Arts and a doctorate from Belgrade’s Faculty of Fine Arts, she pioneered “breathing canvases”—works that dissolve the boundary between art object and sensory experience.
Her art has traveled across five continents and thirty-three countries: Japan, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Russia, India, Georgia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Romania, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, France, Denmark, Netherlands, Slovakia, Belgium, UK, Spain, Italy, US, Mexico, and Canada. Recent exhibitions include the Museum of Modern Art in Tbilisi, London Design Biennale, Maxxi Museum in Italy, and Grand Egyptian Museum.
Yet Csaky’s vision extends beyond gallery walls—she channels artistic excellence toward humanitarian impact, creating exhibitions for children with cancer and disabilities, earning a Gold Medal for merging art with advocacy. From provincial Vojvodina to global stages, Csaky represents the contemporary artist as both creator and catalyst for change.
